A Song of Ice and Fire

UPDATE:

Here's Doran Martell for you guys, I will do a better version of him one day. I will.

Been on a bit of a art kick sing finishing A Clash of Kings. Here's a few more characters.

Ser Barristan Selmy, knight and member of the Kingsguard

Lady Mellisandre, the Red Lady and priestess of R'hilor. Damn is she a piece of work

Arya tark, daughter of Lord Eddard Stark,

Luwin, the Maester of Winterfell.

Daenerys Stormborn exiled princess of the Targaryen house.

Another ASOIAF doodle. Don't often draw ladies but Dany is slowly turning into one of my favorite characters of the series.

Another quick doodle before I go in to do work. This time of Roose Bolton. I think if and when I do more fan art I'll probably just add it into this post to save on spamming the blog

The HBO series A Game of Thrones is coming out in a couple of weeks and me being me I couldn't wait that long so decided to read the book instead. I've realized it really is a terrific book, the characters are so diverse and interesting and not simply good and evil. I don't normally do fan art often but I felt like getting some of my favorite characters down before I see the series and then can only picture the actors. Here's the first, a quick 20 minute doodle of one of the narrating characters, Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell, done in between background painting as a break from painting leaves and grass. I'd like to say more coming but I've got plenty of uni work to do so who can say?

Playing With Fire

A cartoon version of Iolo showing off his love of fire.

Tried doing something a little different with the background, quite like it.

I may use him in this form for my third year animation project but I still have a lot of animation tests and doodling to do before I make up my mind. Plus a story helps :P

UPDATE:

Here's a quick size comparison doodle between Iolo and his adopted son Korik.

Reef

UPDATE:

Second version of the background. The foreground coral has been removed and repainted separately as it's going to be pieced together in Animate Pro and animated, (hopefully). Also background detail has been added and the whole thing has been lengthened.

Here's the first version of a background for the animation project I'm working on along with three others. I would like to say more but at this point all I can say is: I hate coral reefs, HATE THEM.

That is all.

Sketchyness

I tend to do a fair bit of doodling and I don't always like sharing these doodles with other people. I'd much rather show someone a finished piece than a quick doodle but I've found sometimes sketches have a charm finished pieces don't. So I've decided to try and post all the sketches in my newest sketchbook to try and loose the habit of keeping them to myself.

UPDATE:

Here's the first few.
